Making free enterprise easier to understand for younger students.
After student interviews and a poll showed an average understanding score of 1.23 out of 5, Anya founded an initiative that taught business fundamentals through product design, market segmentation, and value propositions.
With her FBLA chapter, the three-phase Educate, Engage, Empower program reached more than 1,000 students. Post-program surveys showed student confidence ratings of 4–5 out of 5.

Connecting generations through practical technology education.
Anya co-founded and led a chapter-wide community service initiative, mobilizing more than 150 students to work with senior living communities and local leaders.
Student-led workshops covered useful apps, cybersecurity, and scam prevention. The team also supported local organizations through social media and Spanish-language resource translation.

Student voice in local decisions
Representing a student body of more than 3,600.
As a school board student representative, Anya brought student perspectives into district decision-making. She advocated for and helped secure $12 million in school improvement funding.
She also facilitated student workshops to gather feedback on internal improvement efforts and worked with the school board to include student voice in decision-making.

Community service & language education
As a Pueblo Inglés volunteer, Anya completed 600 hours teaching English to more than 200 Spanish participants, earning the program’s highest performance evaluations for three consecutive years. She also led Students of Service and partnered with the school board to enable international volunteer opportunities.

Environmental leadership
As president of Mother Earth’s Concerned Students, she led three committees and launched a textile recycling initiative supporting community and fundraising efforts. She was also the first teen member appointed to Gurnee’s Environmental Sustainability Committee.

Welcoming and supporting peers
In Link Crew’s inaugural group, Anya helped welcome and guide more than 800 freshmen. With the Council for Exceptional Children, she assisted with activities for students in special education and launched the club’s social media page.
